tailgate lock modification

Has anyone ever put an actuator on the lock in the rear tailgate? I want to get a power lock setup going, and tie it into my alarm. Is it as simple as putting an actuator in, or would I have to modify the mechanism at all?

Yes, that is it. There is limited space but there is enough space to squeeze the actuator in. It me about 30 minutes to mount and wire the actuator to the alarm for the tailgate lock. No modification of the lock mechanism is needed.

No - but if I get a chance I will pop off the cover and take a few over the wk/end.
