Tail Light, both filiments always on when lights are on
I have a 2006 TJ unlimited Rubicon.
So whenever I turn on my lights my drivers side taillight puts power to both the tailight and the stoplight filiments. Also, the LH blinker races. Only the front LH blinker blinks. Since the rear light, brake, and blinker use the same two filiments and from the point lights are turned on both are lit the blinker can't blink in the rear. If I turn on the L/H blinker with the light off. same outcome except no light at all from the rear tailight/blinker. and the front still races. I've replaced the bulb, no effect. I've checked the fuses, all are good. I stopped by the local Auto Parts Store they could not find a flasher module for the jeep. Any ideas?

i can think of 3 possibilities. there may be others though. turn signal flasher in your steering column, clock spring in the column, or a brake switch. im not exactly sure where the brake switch is but theyre usually at the pedal on the firewall inside.

I had a similar problem with my 2000 sport. It may sound weird but I think you just have corrosion in the system at the tail light assembly itself. The assembly is the ground for the circuit. When you remove the plastic tail light cover you will see 3 bolts that mount the assembly to the tub. Remove those bolts and check to make sure that they are clean and that there is no rust or grime. I had stupid rubber washers on the bolts and if you do too then remove those and trash them. Those bolts are the grounding of the circuit to the tub. Make sure that the bolts create good contact with the tub (fresh and clean with no rust or corrosion) and see if that fixes the problem. I had to buy new bolts one size bigger and tap out the holes, but it fixed the problem. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice.... I've been told by several locals it may be a grounding issue. Since that is easy to work I'll do that first and see if I find any issues at the tailight assemble.
