T-Case linkage...I'm pulling a dumb dumb

Hey folks so I finally got to the odds and ends of finishing up my transmission swap and now I'm just acting stupid I think. I can't seem to get the tcase linkage back together. It is attached to the jeep but I just can't get the rod into the arm on the tcase. The arm is pointing downward and I can't fit the rod inbetween the tcase and arm. I tried moving it upward but no luck. Any suggestions? Thanks

Sure. Just remove the little lever by taking off the nut where it fits onto the keyed shaft, pop the linkage into the bushing and reinstall.
