SwayLOC....a discussion.
You know you want to show off your toys. Please post up pics of your swayloc. Especially the manual dual rate version. Do they come painted black now or are the ones that I have seen black been painted by the customer?
Are there any known issues with the latest generation? Where is the cheapest place to purchase the manual Dual rate system? Any discounts for buying two of them?

I've also greatly enjoyed my SwayLOC. It was a superb upgrade from the Anti-rock, which itself was a superb swaybar system to run on the trail. The SwayLOC has all the off-road flexyness of the Anti-rock but with slightly stiffer on-road handling than a stock OEM swaybar. Like Vino this is one of my favorite mods.
I bought mine from Northridge, too. $499. Back when I was looking there didn't seem to be any price difference from place to place. And I think that is still the case. Still, it's worth the money. The colors of the SwayLOC are as it is from ORO. No painting by me. The arms are black and the aluminum bits are annodized gray. There are zero issues I've had with mine. It's a 2nd generation one and incorporated improvements the designer and manufacturer worked out between the first and second generations. Namely, some of the tolerances had been increased in the latch mechanism so that it cleans out easier and doesn't get jammed with dirt. Plus I think there were some changes made to the outer swaybar (thicker) which both stiffened it up and also made a snugger fit with the inner swaybar compared to the older set up. Anyways, the versions sold now are great. No problems. Some photos from the install process and trail use. . . ![]() Photo of the two swaybars (torsion rods). The inner swaybar is for offroad trail use and the outer swawybar is what is engaged for street use. ![]() Close up of some of the hardware and parts. Top quality stuff. The upper- right gray pieces are the machined aluminum engagement block and spring- loaded flip-a-lever parts. The heim joints have a teflon race and are used in the end links. The lower piece is the end of the fan-shaped plate with a splined hole that clamps to the outer torsion rod. ![]() Here's the driver's side arm with both smaller and larger splined holes for the two torsion rods. Both rods clamp to this arm. ![]() Slipping in the SwayLOC outer torsion rod and bushing. ![]() The two torsion rods installed. ![]() The finished SwayLOC. ![]() SwayLOC in action. ![]() Sorry, don't have as many flex shots as I used to. The SwayLOC works beautifully, however.

if you were to get the single rate swayloc and later down the road want the dual rate, could you up-grade it?

One of the guys in our club used his for the first time this weekend in Clayton OK and ended up with a broken end link. It looked to us like he didn't have enough thread inside the link, I haven't heard what ORO has told him about it. They sold him the length of links to match his lift height, we're wondering if maybe that was wrong.

Did they build a single rate? Isn't the dual rate option the entire point of the Swaylock otherwise it would be a $500 disconnect?

You're right - it is basically a $375 disconnect. But on road, it is alittle firmer than the stock antisway bar.

Couldn't be happier with my dual rate air actuated. After one short test run I really like the way the front and rear suspensions are working together again. Yesterday watching my buddy fight to reconnect his discos in the rain while I was dry in the cab was just icing on the cake.
