Is suspension lift required to swap in a HP Dana 30?

Is suspension lift required to swap in a HP Dana 30? I've seen mention of this all over the threads i've searched but i have never found an difinitive(sp?) answer.

Does it matter if it disconect of non-disconect?

Thanks,

I have a HP D30 with 2.5" of susp. lift. You'll be fine without any lift. No NEED for adj. control arms but they sure wouldn't hurt.
