Suspension Lift, Body Lift Questions
Earlier I posted a thread about lifting my jeep, but for mostly visual puposes, the occasional mudding and swamping, no off-roading. I got a lot of response's advising against 35's with a 4" lift because it was simply not necessary, which is probably true but I though I'd ask.
From what I here more modifications are needed with 4" and more suspension lifts. Is this also the case with Suspension and Body lift combinations? I first wanted a 4" suspension and a 1" body, but would there be less area for concern if I had a 3" suspension and a 2" body? I'm new to lifts so I might as well the questions now before making the wrong decision.

Well, it's at about the 4" suspension lift height where lifting gets expensive because at that height, you start needing a SYE kit and longer CV driveshaft to cure the vibrations and replace the driveshaft which becomes too short at that height.
So if you needed over 3" of height, a 3" suspension lift and a 1" or 2" body lift would get you around the need for the SYE and CV driveshaft. It's not a bad way to go. ![]()

Why do you want to go that high if you are offroading only occasionally?
