supertop troubles

when i first got my 01 tj it had a bikini top made by best top. the bikini top attached to the top of the windshield by sliding a "t" shaped piece of plastic through a similarly shaped tube that is screwed into the top of the windshield. i ordered a best top supertop for the winter time, and the problem i am having is that the header bar does not line up properly with the corner pieces. the cloth part of the supertop just has a flat piece of plastic that slides into the channel on the header bar (and if that isnt true, that could be my problem there), so without the corners being aligned properly the plastic on the top comes out of the corners, causing the whole front of the top to come undone. this mostly happens at highway speeds, which makes the problem even worse. so my question is, do i need to take the "t" shaped piece of tube for the bikini top off for the supertop header to fit the way it should? i figured since both were made by best top that there shouldnt be an issue.

I had the same issue. I cut a notch out of the plastic that slides into the track. The corner sticks out but it stays in. The top was wider than the header.
