Suggestions for the new toy.....

Welp...I listed my Jeep for sale a week ago and sold it this morning. I put down a deposit on this one and I will be picking it up next weekend! She already has some trail damage, but nothing that some flat fenders wouldnt fix!

Take a look and tell me what you think I should do with it. I would like to get the flat fenders first, probably some armor, and take out the carpet & rhino line it. Its an 03 with 52K miles. Got a hell of a deal on it I think. We will see when I get to inspect it and drive it around. Hopefully it isnt a clunker!

I think it just has the factory rockers, but I am going to replace those with A to Z like I had on the last jeep.

Do the rubicons come with stronger Axle shafts or u-joints? What else do the Rubicons have that are upgraded compared to the Wrangler X?

I love that color! Since you live in Texas...get rid of the full doors and go with 1/2 doors. Even in the winter we get enough warm days that it's nice to pop off the soft windows and enjoy the breeze.

thats a super nice jeep man! thats one of the best looking ones i've seen in a while

maybe put some body armor on those rear panels? someone mentioned the rocker panels already. do you like the front bumper? the stinger is cool but the cut bumper is narrow. nothin wrong with it tho but maybe thats why them fenders got dinged haha. flat fenders will look good

is she locked?

She is locked as soon as I push the button! I was kinda ifffy on the color. I had a buddy of mine look at it and he said it reminds him of what you might find in a diaper. haha!

Yeah, I would like to get some half doors, but I refuse to get the soft best top doors. Just dont like them. I seriously doubt that I am ever going to find used half doors in that color.

I grew up in Hughes Springs, about 45 minutes north of Longview. I was in Gilmer 2 weekends ago with my old Jeep and busted an axle.

I will be in northeast Texas for Christmas....where do you go wheeling? I am not looking for any mud really. Anywhere else to go around there?

It looks like you might be missing the sway bar end link(s). If you plan on driving it on the street, I'd put some on.

rubicons have D44's front and rear (front is truly just a beefed D30), air lockers, and a NP241 T-case with a fixed yoke

The only places I currently wheel are out at the coal mining sites between Beckville and Tatum. I'm out there every day for 10 days at a time and then 4 days off. Tons of mud when it rains, then thick dust when it dries out. Being a geologist is the best job in the world!

I've never been to Barnwell Mountain. You may be familiar with it. Other than the usual mud places around here, I don't know of many places to go wheeling.

IMO, barnwell is one of the nicest places in east/north east texas to wheel.

If it were me, i'd get a new set of tires and new wheels with a new spare too since those tires look bald and the wheels look beat, some front tubes, and some armor. Of course that would only be if i had loads of extra cash....ha
