Strange bang

I have a 97 TJ and when I go over bumps in excess of 45 mph something bangs underneath my feet. I literally feel something hit underneath the floor. It feels like the trans/tcase/skid plate area. I have a t case drop installed but all bolts are in place and tight so I cant figure it out. Nothing moves when I am parked and under it testing it, but it bangs violently every time over bumps. Any ideas???

Could it be a bad tranny or transfer case mount? What else is down there that could hit the floor. Also remember that vibrations and thumps can be deceiving. They can travel through metal and seem to be coming from somewhere else. Same goes for bearing/shaft noises. We once spent two days trying to find a bad bearing in a combine at school, only to find that it was one on the other side of the combine from where the noise was coming from. It was half as loud on the other side of the machine.

Yeah thats the thing I am not really sure and do not know how to test exactly where it is coming from. This is a post-lift problem though, I do know that. When I flex AT ALL even just shifting vehicle weight while turning I hear a creaking noise that sounds as if it is coming from front control arms, like something is in a bind(havent figured that one out yet either) but I wasnt sure if the two were related...All I know is it feels like when I hit bumps, something is about to come loose!
