stock tire carrier CB antenna mount

Im looking to mount my CB antenna to the stock carrier.
Ive searched the forum and havent found what Im looking for.
I would like something similar offered for the JKs. I can fab up the bracket but I would like to know how to ground the antenna. I was considering the Teraflex tailight mount but I do not want to drill a hole into the tub.

Has to be someone on here who has fabbed something nice up.

Pics and a write up would be great.

There must be many dozens setups available? Go to the antenna vendors web sites and get the one you like and bolt it to the carrier. Have you looked at other rigs? Or drive to the nearest big truck stop and look at their selection. I see them mounted to the tail light, body side, and the tire carrier. I don't like the ones mounted to the body side because the branches will break them off.
The main thing to remember for a carrier mount is to run a dedicated ground wire with to the frame/body.

I have a 4' and wanted to be able to pull in my garage without taking it off. I parked it in the door to see where I could put it without it hitting. I installed the bracket on the lower door hinge.

Picture above uses a 4' and comes just to the top of the soft top. Snug fit between the door and tire so the spring is a little useless.

Pm me your email address and ill email you pics of mine. Bent a big washer so it would sit level, and it never loosened on me. I used a factory hole, and it works great

I drilled a hole in my carrier and mounted an old tractor trailer mirror mount I had with a 1/2" bolt. Been working fine for 8 years now.

I have a 4' one and just drilled a hole in the upper outside of the tire mount. I just cleaned the hole to get a ground.

The Teraflex mount works great, and drilling a hole in the tub for that is nothing.....wait until you do corners and rock sliders.....

I drilled into the top of the tire carrier, just to the right of the center brake light. The surface is slightly angled so my antenna leaned back into the spare tire. I punched a hole in the top and bottom of a racket ball and slid it down to the tire. The antenna is exactly straight and solid.

just sanded off a little paint from the tire carrier. I ran the cable between the tailgate and the glass off 2 one side, then ran it under carpet on passenger side and besides center console under carpet.
