steering wheel squeak

When I start up my jeep (97 TJ) and start off to work in the morning, I've noticed a squeak coming from the steering wheel/column when I turn the wheel. This only happens when everything's cold. When the engine/pass. compartment warm up, the squeak goes away. Does anyone know what is causing this/how it can be eliminated? I know WD40 is great for eliminating squeaks like this, but I don't want to just go spraying it around the clockspring, airbag wires, etc. if I don't know what I'm doing.
Thanks

You need to spray some white lithum grease around the boot that seals the firewall where the steering column passes through. Put some between the boot and the firewall and it should stop your noise. Believe it or not, there is a TSB from Jeep about this problem, and what I described is the "offical" fix for the problem.
