steering box skid.

i need to make a steering box skid for my TJ. whoever did the conversion didnt use a stock steering box mount. that means that the bolt on steering box skids MADE FOR RHD TJs are useless to me. no big deal, i like a challenge.

my question is this: do i make the skid easily removable by bolting it on to my front bumper? this way i could have it tie in with the other steering box mounting bolts already there.

or do i weld it to my front bumper? this would make it stronger i believe, but more of a pain to access the pitman arm or the steering box mounting bolts, or even the box itself. meaning i would have to remove the bumper to access the steering box and bolts.

anything else i should consider?

Why not build one like the LHD Jeeps except backwards? IMO I wouldn't weld things if I didn't have too, I prefer the bolt in myself, but each to you own.

Yeah, I like bolting. I don't understand why people say welding is always stronger.
