Pretty sweet, for the '03-'06 crowd that is. $369 though? Sure its better crafted
than the Jeep Medic was, but still...ouch.

When I got my gas tank skid plate from Rokmen (bare metal), I had it galvanised first and then powdercoated. Its held up so far (about 4 months).

JJ,

Ive got one of the TT skids, and with the price of steel compared to when Medic was selling their parts, I really don't believe that the price is outrageous. There are other options out there that are much more expensive. I mean with the weight of this stuff, I bet the price per pound is pretty reasonable.

I am pretty unhappy that they came out with the engine skid so "quickly".

Now I have to figure out which organ to sell that my wife won't miss so I can order mine! (oops, that might not sound right)

You can do it without eliminating or modifying the inner fenders to much. AEV keeps all the stock components in their locations. Design them to pull the outer fenders off by drilling the pinch welds, modify or provide a new battery tray, cut the hood (or use AEV's hood), inside the hood bend the sheet metal of the tube fenders to a 90 deg and mate it with screws or rivets to the inner sheet metal lip left on the inner fenders. bend the outside tube out of one piece of HREW like TnT's Phantom fenders, i'm sure you've got a laser table - you can cut the entire outter sheet metal using that, then bend it with a break, TIG weld on the mounting points and manufacturing is done.

bingo, highline hood and you get keep original inner component locations.

I'm not pulling the trigger on my Rokmen purchase until I can get it all at once. I am looking at a gas skid, engine/tt, and highline tube fenders (these are iffy). I need to talk to Rokmen and see if they will do a little custom work on their tubes. I hate the look of tube fenders, but if they'd work with me, it would keep me from buying the whole AEV kit. We'll see. I'm headed to the Persian Gulf for a year to build up my Jeep fund, so hopefully they get it together in the meantime with those highline tubes. Here's hopin'.

Rear Currie 4" coils - 190 shipped. (They've been sitting in the back of my Jeep for mock up but won't work out for me.)

Hornblasters Shocker S4 horn set with some extras $210 shipped. (It is not OBA, just an accessory for OBA)

"LCOG" isn't cheap and it certainly isn't easy. If you think so, you are doing it wrong. If you aren't willing to put in the effort, don't label your build "LCOG". You are just a cheap ******bag.

on the price of the new engine skid @ $370, although its VERY pretty.
