spectre intake

I was wanting to put a cold air intake for my tj & i was pretty much set on a k&n until i saw the one from spectre. Unlike the regular kinds that pull air from under the hood, this one draws air in from the cab through a hole in the fire wall. The filter is in the tube & all this is suppose to keep it from sucking in water if you take it swimming. My problems with it are: would the air be any colder since the hole goes by the heater box, woulden't there be more noise to deal with & if it's so great then why is it only $160 when others start around $200. I'm just looking for some advice before I waste money on something that isn't worth it. Thanks

if you type "Spectre Intake" into the search box up top, theres a bunch of threads on this thing, even like 2 or 3 from the past week.
