Speakers and Cage
I'm going to get a Rock Hard 4x4 cage and I'm considering repainting the stock cage to match the rock hard parts (going to be black). Was wondering how people have ran the wires to the speakers without having the padding on the stock cage. I'm thinking about running it inside the cage and drilling a hole to route it out of, but not sure. Ideas would be appreciated and would love to see pictures if anybody has done this.

Do you have a soundbar? I've got the complete rock hard cage--check my gallery for a picture. From the factory--The speaker wires run along the top of the soundbar, with a harness on the driver's side, all covered up by the soundbar padding, not your roll bar padding.
However, if you're getting the rear angle bars: The sound bar is held on by 4 torx bolts. Unclip the harness, remove the two bolts on each side of the jeep-PRESTO the sound bar is in your hot little/large? hands. Remove the soundbar cover, pull off the padding (it's glued on, don't rip it to shreds while removing, you'll put it all back on afterwards). Whip out the trusty dremal and notch out the spaces for the rear angle bars on the soundbar (pls be sure not to let any helpers cut the top of the sound bar--like mine ALMOST did DOH!). I packed in some poly fill(stuff that's in pillows) due to opening up the soundbar--my 6" pioneers don't sound any different. Replace all the padding/covering,etc, reinstall the soundbar and you're done.Check out this link: http://www.4x4xplor.com/rockhard-sportcage.html |
