I was driving my Jeep yesterday when something just didn't feel right with the steering, at high speeds the steering would be very loose and unstable but at low speeds it was tight and still unstable, kind of like an old car without power steering. I checked the power steering fluid and it was fine, looked for leaks but couldn't find any. The steering stabilizer is a skyjacker replacement stabilizer that i put on about two months ago. Also when i would park the wheels would be straight but the steering wheel would be pointed down and to the left, when i would drive off it would straighten out, really weird, anyone have an idea of what it is? Thanks in advance.

get an alignment done?
also have you been offroading lately?
i know i bent a tierod once and i was having stability issues, visually its hard to tell if it is bent unless your comparing it to another one, but since then i upgraded to a heavy duty one.
it may also be your balljoints on the knuckles, when they start to wear it makes it feel a bit loose

I got the tires probably a month ago so they should be alinged, i have been offroading but it was still acting weird on the way to the actual offroading, i was thinking about the ball joints also.

new tires has nothing to do with the alignment, you should have it checked.

what i meant was that when i got the tires i got them balanced and aligned, probably will run it by the tire shop tomorrow and get the alignment checked, any other ideas of what it is?
