somehtin dont sound right???

when i back out of my drive way and go down the little curb deal there....i hear like a pop from my front end. it doesnt happen enough for me to really narrpw down what the heck it is.
last night i was backing up to a boulder in 4 lo and as i started to climb, i heard it again??
any ideas? ball joints?
