Hello everyone,
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post, but here goes.
I have a 2002 TJ with stock hard top. I'm planning on getting a soft top but one thing has been worrying me. The temperature where I live can get really high, just two weeks ago it went up to 55C degrees (130F). While temps that high are rare, temperatures close to 50C (120F) are quite common.
So on to the actual questions:
1- Can soft tops handle temperatures that high? or will they deteriorate fast?
2- Will soft tops turn the car into an oven at these temps? (Any more than hard tops?)
3- Will sailcloth make any difference in temperature negatively or positively?
Your input is highly appreciated
