Soft top window-sill won't stay in

I've heard mention that this is a typical failure mode on aging soft tops, but I'm hoping there will be some suggestions to get me through another year or so.

Anyway, the problem is that all of a sudden I can't get one of the little plastic window sill on the passenger side to stay in the slot. It pops out and then starts rattling against the door surround. Driving me crazy!

Any suggestions appreciated!

Did you loose the insert?? That would cause it.

You mean the L-shaped plastic piece that goes in the slot? That's what I'm talking about, it won't stay in the slot.

I tried cleaning out the slot with rubbing alcohol and it seems to be a bit better. My last hunting trip was very muddy , so I'm wondering if the dirt up in the slot may be making it slip out. ????
