soft top upper door water leak?

Anybody else have this problem? If so, please let me know if you've found a solution.

During heavy rains, water drips into the upper half of my soft top doors. Somehow, water gets trapped in the canvas gusset around the plastic windows. Eventually, it overflows and leaks down into my map pockets, through the holes and onto the driver side and passanger side floors. It can turn into 2-3 inches of water on the floor. I can literally take my upper doors out after it has rained, turn them on their sides, and about a liter of water will come out.

I'm very familiar with the water on the front passanger side (and sometimes the driver side too) from my YJ and the water getting in the vents...

I just checked today while cleaning my Jeep out and my passanger side rear floor is soaked.. I have full doors.. I'm currently searching for the solution

There are already several posts regarding this type of problem
on the softops - and several possible sources, mine was the
seam on the soft top itself, many have water coming in through
the vent (there is a fix for this by the way), there was one guy
who found the water coming in through his step shield.

do a search in this forum for 'rain' and you should see plenty-o-info!

I don't understand where your water is accumulating. From the outside????

Maybe you could post a pic of the problem area you believe is the sourse of the water build-up. and then we may be able to all come up with a solution?

Try bending the upper doorframe in some to make a tighter fit around the door surround. Use a paper hole punch to make a small hole at the low end of the canvas gusset around the plastic windows your describing.

I see alot of people complain about water in the back.. but no solutions...

only solutions are for water coming in through the vents which is not the case here...

I noticed it while it was still raining and the door frames were dry, and the inside of the softtop was dry... oh well, hard top goes on tomorrow anyways...
