Soft top sunroof

My wife saw a Wrangler yesterday with the first section of the soft top folded back like a sunroof. I told her I thought this was a specialty aftermarket product. She is convinced she can somehow gerry rig her OEM top to do the same. I don't think so. How can I talk her out of this?

Why would you want to? I've seen those in catalogues and don't see the point. If it's nice enough to have the roof open then why not spend the 5 min. taking the top down?

Just my opinion...

You're either not serious or not married. FINGERNAILS dude! All that pulling and stretching and zipping just for a little sun in her face...her fingernails would never survive.

Am married and should have thought of that!

Good thing my wife drives a car with a sunroof.

I've got one of the Bestop sunrider tops, and its really a hastle when you want the whole top down. It wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for a set of pins on the door frames that hold the non-folded part in place. The darn things get stuck and I'm stuck not being able to put the top down until I get home and get the vice grips out. But the jeeps last owner threw it in. (never out of the box when I bought the jeep, because the stock top had a huge tear in it)

I just hope that people are smarter at taking their soft tops down than the salesmen at the dealership I work at. As I walked from one building to another (mostly to look at the new Unlimited again) I counted 6 trying to get it down. As I left to go back, they were up to nine. Simply sad. Even worse when you consider I rely on them selling cars to keep my butt in a job.........

LOL...thats the way the salesman was when I bought my jeep....he finally got it down but he put it down "wrong", ya i didnt think that was possible either. So for months I was literally fighting this thing...then I read the manual and get it the top up and down in like less then 2 minutes, i think it easy now cuz i've been doing it the hard way for so long....

This cracked me up as I thought of the salesman that tried to put my top down the first time. He started putting it down with all the windows still intact. Luckily I had the good sense to realize that's probably not how it works!

I got the manual out of the glove box and took over for the poor guy.

I was under the impression that the Unlimmited would be shipping with this kind of top.

Add split-rings (like on your keys) to the zippers on your soft-top and your wife will keep her nails much longer.
