Snow has arrived.

It was awesome last night. I laid fresh tracks in the church parking lot across from my house. 8" of fresh had fallen. So sweet.

So now with the snow upon us, I occassionally put it into 4Hi when it's needed.

I used to drive my Dad's late 90's Pathfinder and after disengaging 4Hi I had to stop and reverse roughly 30ft to fully disengage it.

Do I have to do something similar with my TJ? Or can I simply disengage it and continue like nothing had happened?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Happy Holidays everyone.

JT

Your 2Hi to 4Hi (and vice versa) should be almost seemless and instant. No need to do anything except let off the gas, throw the lever, and bam. Good to go.

Thanks guys. I'll start letting off the gas now too that it has been mentioned.

I appreciate the help.

I did that before the Aussie locker was installed. Now, it doesn't just fall back into 2WD every time. Sometime, I have to let off the gas a couple of times, and have had to put the tranny in neutral to release the pressure on the locker. Not sure why, but I would guess that it just might get a little stuck.

your Pa's pathfinder probabbly had out locking hubs. The reverse thing was to allow the hubs to switch too free.

I'm guessing it would be beyond cruel if I said I put the top down and cruised around today in our 80 degree sunshiny day here in Florida...so I won't.

Happy Holidays to All

Hi BearsJeep.

About the pics - sorry guys. I'll do better next time. Supposed to get some more snow over the weekend. I'll be sure to take some pics for you and get some "click free" action from some helpful person.

Until then, safe and happy holidays everyone.

Why would you move to Florida? Then you'd never have anything to do with your Jeep except drive it into an alligator infested swamp. At least here we can jump in the Jeep and go 4x4ing across town.
