Smittybilt IRack

Was contemplating on this, as I wanted to mount my Gerry can and this is the only thing I can find that might be suitable. What do you think or is there a better way to mount the can to the TJ?

That looks like a cool idea but it sure seems like it put a lot of weight and leverage on a tire carrier and bumper, it had better be a strong one. IMHO

That's what I'm afraid of, the load on the carriage. I might just try and fabricate something up..

I have the same Smittybilt tire carrier and bumper. I mounted the Hi-Lift jack under the tire on the two angled square metal tubing to keep the extra weight low and close to the bumper. I made my own fuel can rack in a similar location to yours where I can fit two jerry cans. However, I don't trail ride with the weight of the cans in this location. I keep the heavy cans with fuel hidden near the campsite and add when needed.

I to would love to see some pics. To the op I remember seeing on the wrangler general forum here that someone else was asking about the irack and somone left a link to a cool thing that held just a jerry can to the spare tire for like 50 bucks. If you use the search and look around you might find that link.

PM Besrk on this forum. He'll make you a very high quality bumper/carrier that can hold a jack and gerry can. And it wont be a smittybilt POS.
