Sliding Glass on Hard Upper Doors

Well I found out that BestTop must be one hell of a greedy company. A few months back one of the sliding windows on my Fiberglass upper doors busted. Just recently I decided to fix this. I called BestTop and unbelievably they do not sell replacement windows. You have to buy all new upper doors for $900. What a bunch of crap.

To make things worse, when I opened up the window enclosure I found that BestTop had welded the seem closed so that I could not remove the window. Of course I just cut the weld out and removed the window anyway.

So I went to a glass shop and had them copy the other window. So for 100 dollars I have now replaced this window.

So if this happens to you, just remove it yourself and have a good glass shop make one for you out of tempered glass.

Thats good to know.

I wouldnt nessacarly call them greedy, they make a high quality product, and you pay for it.

I read on their website that they dont sell slider replacement parts beacuse they are so diffuclt to put togther that they only sell the entire unit...

Glad you got it fixed though!

Its simple to put together. They do make a great product, but I was not referring to that. I am simply stating that they have done all they could to make it difficult to change the window. They did not need to use spot welds to keep you from opening the frame up, but they did. Kind of reminds me of how apple made it so you couldnt replace the battery in an IPOD early on.
