Imped: It wasn't nearly as much work as I had thought it would be. I recommend the Cherry bomb muffler if you like your exhaust a little on the louder side at low RPMs but not loud on the highway.

You two are very lucky y ou dont have to extend your exhaust all the way out the back of the jeep 4 inches past the rear axle

Stillwater Run 01/22

So I went out with a couple of the local Jeep Clubs this weekend to a private ranch called Stillwater Ranch up by Llano, Tx.

The exhaust wasn't too loud or annoying on the 2hr drive up. The weather was great and so was the wheeling. It was my first real chance to try out the new tires, skid and driveshaft. They all performed great. I was able to do just about anything I tried. The ranch has a bunch of loose dirt on most of the obstacles so that made things harder than they should have been. The only casualty is my front license plate.

My only complaint was the gearing, time to upgrade to some Yukon 4.88 gears. front and rear. I already picked up some gears for the front on Craigslist new for 90 bucks. I'm also going to be throwing in a Detroit Locker in the rear.

The new steering will have to wait.

Now for some pics:

Well, I had to ditch the homemade discos. The were a pain to put in and clunked. I ended up going back to the factory bolts. An antirock is my future.

On an other note, I finally got around to undercoating my rear fender wells. I now wish I had done this sooner. It was so easy and looks great.

I also taped off a thin line on the tub to add as a trim to make my cutouts look cleaner.

thanks Jake!!! The black in the rear wells balances the jeeps colors since I have so much black in the front.

I am thinking of introducing some electric blue in some areas. Like a grill hoop, cage or beadlocks. I like the overkill beadlocks.

Found this jeep on the overkill site, might have a little too much blue for my taste.

yeah, that Jeep is drifting dangerously close to a "theme". However, some blue beadlocks would look sick on your rig. The blacked-out wells turned out nice too!

Thanks for posting the Pic of my TJ going up the Moab trail in Llano, it sure felt like my tire was much higher then it was. Will you be at the Jamboree in March? Jeep looks good now!!

JJeeper09: I purchased the tube inserts from Ballistic Fab, DOM locally and the Joints from Barnes 4wd. Barnes also has tube inserts. I can't say enough good stuff from the service at Barnes. Order from them.

You won't really save much money by building your own. I did it for personal satisfaction and because I wanted dual JJ on both ends just in case I go long arms later. Recycle the parts.

I toll you the undercoating would look good. It's just too bad we didn't undercoat when we had the t-case out.
