So I got going on some of the brackets for the HP44. This is a UCA mount similar to Claytons. It has a gusset also just not in the pic. I fabbed it from 1/4 scrap that a friend gave me and ordered the JJoints from Currie.
It's too hot to do any more work. 100 degrees.

Im surprised your not doing the 35" tires with an HP30 front axle which actually nets you better clearance underneath than a 37" tire/d44 front combo from what I understand.

After looking at the front of my Jeep I felt like I had too many accessories in the front. Ever since I added my winch it felt crowded. After looking at some pic online and in CRAWL, I decided to remove some stuff from the front. Looking at the lines on the Jeep and how my eye flowed I decided to remove the fog lights. This allowed me to remove more of the bumper and add more approach space. One side of the bumper was bashed anyway. Since I now had a winch I didn't need my factory tow hooks so those came off also.
Here's a before and after pic. The front of the jeep feels so much more clean and neat. I really like how my eye flows when I look at the front.

Great looking Jeep. The rear cut looks great, I just think the corners are a bit too tight. I can't wait to see it all come together

The corners on my rear cutouts did come out sharper than I originally wanted. The Rokmen fenders are very angular so it works. It's a done deal so I just go with it. I do like very angular cuts.

With about 60k on my LJ I figure it's time to replace my stock limited slip. Clutch packs I figure are shot by now. Im not sure if I'm going to keep my rear 44 so I decided to go with the most affordable solution a lunch box locker. Aussie is on back order so I decided to give the spartan a try. I will need a 44 carrier so I'm taking the carrier from my front 44 build. Eventually the spartan will go back into the front 44 when it's installed/regeared.
I also ordered a add on cage from A to Z fab. Install picks immune soon.

Also, worth noting. I purchased a new tow rig. It's a DD for the wife and a tow rig for me. Now we can both be happy.

Well, I figured it was time to replace the rear limited slip, with 60k on the odometer I figure the clutch packs were shot. I didn't want to break the bank and wanted a temporary solution till I slap the HP44 in and regear. I decided to do some heavy research, get some friends advice and do it myself. I'm not installing new gears just removing the old LS and adding a new carrier and lunchbox locker.
I originally wanted an other Aussie but they are on back order so I went with the Spartan which is supposed to be the same as the Aussie but stronger.
Harbor Frieght had the tools I needed on sale so I pick those up. I had a really hard time getting the carrier out until I realized I forgot to take the axle shafts out. DUHHHHHH!!!! Then it came out easy. The thru holes in my donor carrier are too small for my jeeps ring gear bolts so I'm going to have to get a new one. I thought about drilling them a little larger but figured this is a precision task and better play it safe. Heres some pics of my work in progress. I hope to finish this install this week for a wheeling trip next weekend.
By the way my new roll cage kit should be here in a couple of days from A to Z Fab. That is going to be a task.

Well the new spartan locker is installed in my rear 44. I definitely know its there. I can hear it and feel it. Hopefully it will quiet down like my Aussie locker did. It's not really that loud though. I had to have my donor carrier drilled to accommodate the larger Tj ring gear bolts. Other than that it was relatively painless to install. Actually easier than my aussie.
I ended up with .006 backlash which is a little tight but with in spec. The pattern looked ok, so we'll see how it goes.
Roll cage came in from a to z fab and I'll start the install this weekend. I'm not sure what color I'm going to paint it. Probably black.
