Silly idle

I was wondering if anyone knows as to why when I start my 2000 TJ the idle
will be normal and then the next time around it drops off to the point of shutting off, or it starts out normal and then it drops off or starts off at a very low idle and then becomes normal. My library of colorful metafors is increasing daily due to this nonsense. PLEASE HELP, Thank You.

I would start with cleaning the IAC valve first and if need be, the whole throttle body. Also check all of your vacuum lines for tightness and making sure there are no cracks. The idle when cold should be up at around 1000 to 1100 rpms and when it drops it should be around 750 rpms or so.

Yup, start with cleaning the IAC and where it mounts to very well. Might as well do the throttle body while you're at it.
