Should I go Dynomax 17731 or 17747? (14" vs 20")

Hello Everyone.

I got it in my head that I want a new muffler. For the moment, just replacing stock. I have settled on the Super Turbos's from Dynomax.

They make 2 that would work. One is 14" and the other is 20" or closer to stock length. I don't care if I have to make up a little patch pipe to fill the difference.

I drive topless from april to halloween at least and I want a little noise but not ignorant.

It's on a 2003 Rubicon.

Please let me know if you have one of these and what you think of it.

Thanks,

Ryan

I have a 14" Thrush and like it a lot, noticeably louder than stock but definitely not obnoxious with the factory tailpipe, dumped after the muffler it was pretty loud and drowned really bad

I just put the 17731 on, I wanted the shorter one so I could access the control arm bolts. Sound is ok, a little tinny but not to bad.

I had issues getting the extension to seal at the bend but managed to finally get it with clamps. I started with a Dynomax 12" extension part 9156 and took about 2" off each end.

I figured out my 2003 is 2.5 inch and bought the cat back mandrel bent set for $280 Canadian tax in/delivered.
