Short arm 3 link rear..1 rear upper okay, temporarily on street?
I just installed my CV rear shaft and SYE. I have rear upper adjustable arms but one is rusted so I can't adjust it. Would it be okay to run with 1 upper in the rear so I can set my pinion angle until I get the other arm adjusting. Just a day or two, strictly on the street.

Alright thank you. Would it be safer/better to run with my pinion angle set to stock with the CV shaft, or adjust the pinion but run with the one arm? I'm going to guess the 3-link as to not put too much stress on the tailshaft or u-joints?

If you have a double cardan shaft, you need to set the pinion accordingly. You'll be fine, just get that arm unfrozen asap.

You would likely get some pretty significant wobble/vibration out of the drive shaft if you didn't correct the pinion angle.

Why can't you take out the shaft and put the arms back in for those days?

That's a good point, you could use the old arms and take out the rear DS, put it in 4HI and run like that until you get the arm fixed. I drove 1000 miles like that last winter, and other than a little torque steer, it didn't hurt anything as far as performance or in the long run durability.

It will only be a day. Two at the max. I set the pinion angle with the one arm so when I get the other arm moving all I'll have to do is adjust it and bolt it in. Also lathered some grease on the threads while adjusting the one arm so it doesn't seize up again. Thanks for the quick response everybody.

Got the arm adjusting and pinion angle set for good. All is well on the LJ. Although the arm was INCREDIBLY siezed up. Took a torch, pliers, and a 4 foot breaker bar to get it moving. Melted the polyurethane (sp?) inside the flex joint and we also mangles the other side's bushing a bit. Looks like those Currie uppers are coming sooner than expected...
