Shifts hard into 2nd

My tj has always been a bit stiff shifting from 1st to 2nd. Has anyone experienced this.

common with the AX-15 transmission for some folks. Mine has shifted like that for the last 30k miles and not gotten worse. I just picked up some RedLine MTL tranny fluid and will see if that helps. Some others have done the same thing: some with good results, some with no change.

I have the same issue on my NV3550. I changed the oil and it helped a little but not much. I just learned to live with the fact that Jeep's are not a precision piece of machinery. If you don't know how learn to double clutch, it will make life a lot easier.

Mine has been like that for years. The Redline MLT did not really help. It hasn't gotten any worse over time. You just know it is going to happen.

I bought it new and on a return to the dealer for service they did say it would need a short break in period, I just didn't think it would take this long. I haven't double clutched since I owned a Simca in 1960's.

My 2001 32rh has done it since I have owned it (bought used). Even when manually shifting it goes from 1st to 2nd hard. It has always done it and never gotten any worse. I had the trans serviced flushed and filled and new filter. Didnt make a bit of difference. I just figure that its the way jeep trans are suppose to be.
