Shifter rattles

I have a 01 manual tj and when i am driving in higher gears, it rattles. It doesnt do it all the time tho. What could that be? Are there bushings or something? How serious is the problem? Thanks

If it happens to the shifter and it is the shifter banging around, you might need a TSB applied.

Check http://www.4x4xplor.com/T-CaseTSB.html. It even has part numbers for you.

Keep moving forward. But keep an eye on history, for if you don't, you are doomed to repeat it.

That TSB is for the TC case shifter banging against the tub. If it is your tranny shifter vibrating, I'd check your linkage and see if something is loose. It is normal for the shifter to vibrate some.
