Be very careful with the wife mod. Uninstallation can be extremely expensive. Wife mods have been known to take the Jeep and all other mods during the uninstall process. Also, make sure you service your wife mod properly as often as humanly possible. Wife mods not properly serviced may malfuction or uninstall themselves at any time.

Although I don't have much interest in being in the contests, I do admire you all for organizing something that interests you. I've read your rules and followed the previous elections. It seems pretty fair to me. Enter if you want to, and see how it plays out.

Run the contest the way you want to run it. It isn't life and death, and you're doing fine.

You've only run your contest for 3 cycles. There are several more familiar jeeps that will likely have their day as the year proceeds. After you filter these dozen or so top dawgs by allowing them their month to shine, I suspect you will see more entries of modestly modified jeeps. I don't think you should refuse an entry just because they were entered previously.

My other opinion is there are many forum participants who are not able to run more difficult trails. So they don't build their jeeps the same way as the fellas we've seen so far. It may be because of where they live, or their financial situation, or just their personal interests. So as organizers of the contest, you have to decide who among the jeepforum population you want to represent in any photo survey. I'll be interested to see some of these "average" fellas, but I think they should wait their turn while the more impressive jeeps get showcased.

FWIW, I think you guys are doing a fine job of running this.

I never got around to entering the first two months, but made it to the top ten this month.

There are a lot more impressive Jeeps on this board than mine, so the top ten should be able to change up if more people enter.

Chris

Don't beat yourself up Will. You guys are doing a fine job! It is impossible to please everyone at the same time. There will always be a handful of people who aren't happy with how things are run, but I would say that the majority of the members on here are content with the contest and how it is run.

Hate to Hijack but where is the Yj OTM thread.

I liked 6th element, something about it made it stand out from the rest.

As stated before, a few minor tweaks can be in order but other than that, the system for this contest is working pretty well.

When it is all said and done, this is just a Jeep Forum. Everyone has different views and opinions and pleasing all on here is impossible.

Will, I think that you have done a great job with organizing this to begin with, as was said before, don't beat yourself up over it. 7 months from now you will look back and see that it was all worth it!!

Thanks everyone again for the great comments, and the votes as well!!

Greg
