I think I see a line...
|
I have a 1" set in mine and really like them. I'm only about 5'4" so it made a big difference for me. It got me back to about the same seat heigth as my 95' Wrangler as far as seeing over the hood. For a taller person it may not be such an advantage. The only drawback is now there is not as much clearance when the steering wheel is tilted up for getting out.

I wanted to do hockey pucks, but can't seem to find them in Tucson in the middle of summer. Probably need to find the right store.
Anyway, I used some very large nuts and fender washers for 7/8-1" of lift. I'm 5'9" and and surprised at the difference it made.

I put the 2" on my TJ and I love it. I'm 5'6" and they made it a lot easier to lean out and see my wheels, and to see more of my hood. They provided some nice beefy grade 8 bolts with the aluminum blocks. If you do pucks, make sure you are putting grade 8 or better in there. Don't just grab something out of the bin at Home Depot, your life can easily count on those 4 little bolts. Also, there are torque specs on those bolts for a reason. Make sure that **** is tight.

I'm 5'11" and went with 1.5" risers from Buchanan. It took some getting used to; but I wouldn't trade them out now. I would suggest this mod to anyone.

I made my own. Went with 1.5" height, while I haven't tried any other height, I am very happy with these. I measure in around 5-9.
![]() Link to the ones I made Also have some dimensions of them on there. Its a great mod well worth the effort to make. Last edited by Scotch740; 11-20-2008 at 01:58 PM.. |

5'11" here too and I also went with the Buchanan kit,, well worth the money. Sure there are cheaper ways to raise your seat... but I feel safer knowing there is something solid under my seat brackets that won't squash if ever in an accident.

5'11" also, and I made my own 1.5" with bolts and stacked washers. It's perfect, but the seats do hit the visor when tipped forward. They still work though. I wouldn't change a thing.
