seat removal?

i did some fixing on my jeep today.. got it undercoated.. fixed rust spots on it... and now i lifted up the carpet a bit and there is quite a mess down there.. so now my question is how hard is it to remove the seats and lift up the carpet to give the jeep a inside wash? cause id like to remove it wash it off.. and perhaps use some touch up paint or something.. i dont see a need for herculining it.

also i didnt seem to see how to remove the back seat i saw the two front seats just have bolts on the bottom but what about the backseat?

You might have to remove a pin where the seat tumbles then push it to the left or the right to get it to slide out of the mounting bracket. That is it, pretty simple.

Carpet removal is easy, removing the front seats is another matter. I believe there are 6 bolts per seat that attach them to the frame.

If I were you, I'd just leave them in, if they get wet, they will dry no problem. A little moisture won't hurt them a bit.

The back seat in the '97's is easy to remove. Just fold it, flip it up, and you'll see the hinge pins that hold it in place. Just slide it to one side until the pin is out, then slide the other side out.

All of the carpet can be removed without removing any of the seats. It's all just snapped in there for the most part. Take out the carpet, pull the drain plugs, and spray under the seats!

seats are 4 bolts, not hard at all but you will need a t50 ( I think ) torx bit for the one bolt. The rear seat is a cinch too, just push to one side remove the cotter pin then slide back and it will pop right out. Carpet...just pull

if you do remove the front seats don't forget to unplug the seatbelt sensor

yah i watned to remove the front seats cause i also found some rust on the seat brackets.

First time I took out the front seats I forgot to unplus the sensor. That was fun.

The bolts are easy enough to remove if they aren't too rusted in place. I took it all out to clean and tremclad the floor in the front. Herc is coming this weekend.

BTW, for those of you who do not know, Tremclad is the product they use in Canada. It's called Rustoleum here in the US.

You painting it a factory color (or close to it) or just going with black?

Ah thanks.. I had assumed it was the same in canada and the US...

And i went with the green as I thought it was going to be a little darker and closer to the emerald green factory color... man I was way off. It's like neon when you compare the two.

I'm just going with a black Herculiner type stuff over top this weekend though
