Seat heaters?

OK, call me a woos if you have to, I can take it. Has anyone installed aftermarket seat heaters into their ride, and if so how what brand and how well did they work. I am getting ready to give a set a try but had to ask before I started. It gets cold here in Oregon and I thought they'd be a nice luxury when having the top off/down. I already bought a set so hopefully there's no horror stories.

I know AEV install them in some of their Jeeps but I'm not sure what brand. I'm sure they wouldn't put them in their rigs if it couldn't be done right.

We saw a few sets at SEMA......not much money either.......

Looks like you take off the seat covers install the heaters and wire them up....

Did not look to bad on the install....

I'm planning on getting some along with the Iggee synthetic leather seat covers I'm getting. Let us know how you like them and how they work, etc.

I've been thinking about the same thing...

I plan on getting my heaters from 4WDH though, a bit cheaper than the link posted above:

Get a heated jacket liner. You'll be more comfortable when driving with the top off with it than just having your backside warmed with seat heaters.

Would the seat heaters work OK if I put them under my Wet Okoles? Or do they really have to go under the actual seat material??

i brought a pair of the gm licensed ones from the autport site. pricey, but i figured if i am going to go to that much work to install them, i want them to last. i love them. three heat settings, feedback controlled, one hour "sleep" timer. full power on them is plenty hot. i was (still am) driving the jeep around with no top in 40 degrees staying nice and toasty. i get crazy looks, but, whatever! it took me a full day to install, but it was completely worth it.

that is the set, but i think they were 280ish for the pair.

you could install them underneath your seat covers, but they use an adhesive backing to stay in place. the adhesive "becomes stronger as it is heated" (from their install video, which is sweet by the way) so it would be almost impossible to remove the seat heater element without ruining it if you ever took off your seat covers. the adhesive is extremely strong, once i had it positioned on the foam, there was no going back.
