Science Behind Building 4 Link Rear And 3 Link Front??

Well like the title says I am wondering what science is involved in building an amazing rear 4 link and front 3 link for my jeep.
I was thinkin of just buying the rough country new long arm kit, but I thought to my self I want atleast a 4 link rear and the rough country doesnt have one. Then I though more and I would also like a 3 link front...
Having these ideas in mind lead me to companys like rock krawler, gen right, poly performance, clayton and so one. All of these companys sell 3 and 4 link kits, either in a complete lift kit or just the link kit. After pricing these out they are all around the same price. Shipping to me here in canada is totally out ragious because of the weight of all the .250 wall tubing...
I noticed all these people sell all the brackets and joints involved in the kit seperatly and after pricing those out and talking to my steel guy and buying the tubing cash, I can save a crazy amount of money by doin it that way instead of buying a kit.
Now I know that there is more to it then just welding the brackets on and what not... But how much is really involved if I build my own compared to buying a kit?

Link length and bracket location are what you'll need to look at. Vertical separation between the upper and lower mounts on the frame in the rear, anti squat, center of gravity, etc. Go over to pirate4x4 and start reading up. Also download a link calculator so you can start inputting some info. You should definitely not just start welding without first knowing exactly where the links should be placed. The calc will tell you that.

How good are you at Advanced math? There's alot more to it then you think, The parts are the cheap stuff. Do you really think your paying 2k plus just for steel parts?
