No problem with the clamz. The rocker base fits tight to the body.

Just a note: I would like to see more of a square step for us guys who deal with mud, ice, and snow. Using that rounded edge to step up on during inclimate weather would mean a trip to the ER.

What about a mini boatside style? I wanted the genrights because they look awesome and are functional but since this is a modular system why not?

How Many holes do you have to drill?

Sounds great! I really like the modularity of the entire system and the idea of replacement sliders is really novel. Personally though, I kind of like the look of the traditional tube step... but with a product like this I'd be willing to compromise for something somewhat similar.

We are working on the bringing the price in so it is competitive with most other rockers. Obviously, the SS slider will be more than the mild steel slider. As soon as we get pricing I'll be able to get packages together. The matching corners will be included.
did anyone else see that? are you talking about aluminum trail corners or full length corners?

Just a note- it's not a step and it's not supposed to be a step. There's plenty of products out there with steps, I don't need to build another one.

This product is designed to protect the sides of your rig, give you outstanding slide surfaces in the rocks, and also to keep the rocks out of your door openings.

They are designed to provide outstanding levels of strength with very good protection at a lighter than average weight.

They are designed so that the parts can be easily swapped that may get damaged or aesthetically challenged from usage in high impact environments.

This rail is meant to be used in the rocks to protect your rig.

You really should consider the fact that there's even a vestige of something to stand on, as being a bonus, because that aspect is not part of the design or it's function nor was it ever intended to be.

I supremely failed at building a step.

I think it was mentioned in one of the other threads that there would be "love or hate" emotion regarding the rockers...I'm not sure that's exactly true...I have mixed feelings... I LOVE the 30lbs, I love all the little things that are engineered into the product, most that I don't understand that make it advanced... I don't love the shape of the bolt on Steel Slider

So I DO NOT Love nor do I HATE these from these in initial "planted" spy shots... I think it will grow on me...and if I weren't running a set, or really f'ed mine up, I'd have to think about. Bring on the Corners!

One questions, how hard this the underside of the Aluminum to drill for mere mortals like myself?

/While this pic isn't mine, I have this Frame mount on my RockHard Cage and had to drill through the Rocker up front on both sides, about where the front round drain hole is to get the big mount bolt into the inside cage leg. It's not a small hole, 7/8's or 1" or so if I remember correctly

When I designed the mini boatside, I took advantage of folding the tub lip inwards to give you more clearance. That meant the angle from the flat under the tub upwards to the higher lip has to change. In other words, the only parts that would be interchangeable between the two products would be the fasteners.

I'll do the higher clearance versions at some point, but the sales from these will have to pick up first to support the development.

20 per side.

Any protection product that I design will be able to be used enthusiastically in Johnson Valley. I have no desire to ever have to be apologetic to someone I know, who took something I came up with out there and then proceeded to tear it up or have it fail on them.

We bend, mangle, fold, and mutilate tube steps out there often enough that I don't think I'll ever do one. The only way to stop them from getting mangled is to make them heavier and that's just not cool.

Well I must say, I am very impressed with these sliders, they are fully functional and I like that. Then add these with full corners yea that is a sweet combo. I suppose its time I start learning how to fill holes from existing products so I can run these products when they are available.

I completely understand the position you are taking from a design and praticality point of view. I probobly wasn't succintly describing my point of view so let me quote Wade who said it better than I...

A 3/8" aluminum backing plate inside? Holy smoke I'm surprised no one has mentioned that!

Guys, that 3/8" interior backing plate is just a hugely (is that a real word? ) major benefit over the other rocker guards out there. My 3/16" 4X Doctor steel rockers with a tubular rail are as strong as nearly any steel rocker made but because they have no backing plate inside, both sides have both literally been caved in about an inch at the rear by the rocks, also caving in the tub & rocker underneath the rocker guards.

That Blaine and Gerald also included that 3/8" interior backing plate in the design is impressive as hell and shows that they mean business when it comes to strength and ability to stand up to the toughest trails. Nice!
