Im sure Blaine is working at his own pace, I doubt he is being pushed any more by Gerald than by the people that want to buy what he developes.

When would you like them to be available? In other words, money talks and you know the rest.

Why? Why would you want pictures of that? It's not difficult to imagine, especially with the black backing and stainless slider.

I finally finished the corner guard installation yesterday by installing Savvy's aluminum low profile LED tail lights. They are pretty darned sweet. The factory tail lights have two inherent issues, their incandescent bulbs burn out and they protrude so far that they can get broken off while offroading.
Here's a good example of that on the infamous Sledgehammer Trail in Johnson Valley Calif. ![]() I couldn't wait to get rid of my previous ghetto-style bling tail lights installed temporarily after installing the aluminum corner guards. ![]() The well packaged tail light kit arrived from Gerald at Savvy a few days ago & none too soon. I was most anxious to get rid of the old tail lights that were probably more suitable to a mall cruiser. ![]() The first thing I noticed in the kit was the heft of the aluminum tail light base, it is an impressive piece of work. Packaging was equally impressive, everything was very well protected & separately boxed inside the packaging. The kit is complete down to the heat-shrink wiring crimp-style splices that are weatherproof. You'll need a heat gun or other source of heat to shrink the vinyl weatherproof insullation. No soldering expertise is necessary to install this kit. ![]() One thing to watch out for is if you elect to go with the black anodized version, you'll need to use a Dremmel tool to grind off any anodizing present on the tapered part of the three bolt holes where the stainless steel bolts go. Anodizing does not conduct electricity & the tail lights obtain their electrical ground through those screws so make sure you grind any anodizing away from where the screws touch before mounting them. ![]() This is what the tapered part of the holes should look like before mounting them. ![]() Wiring is straight forward with Savvy providing the color code for 2000 and newer TJs. Mine is a '97 so if you have an older TJ like mine, here goes: Note: This below wiring color code is what works for my '97 which may be the same up through '99. Savvy's instructions are for 2000 and newer Wranglers which uses a different color code. -Tail light Green Backup wire to the tail light harness's White with black stripe wire. -Tail light Red Brake/Turn wire to the tail light harness's Green with black stripe wire. -Tail light Brown Driving/tail wire to the tail light harness's white wire. You will need some form of license plate light. I chose to use the Lite'N Boltz combination mounting bolts & LED lights that are perfect for the license plate. Connect them to the tail light's integrated side marker lights. They are available from Design Engineering DEI 030310 - DEI Lite'N Boltz - Overview - SummitRacing.com p/n DEI 030310 ![]() Getting nearly done, you can see Savvy's two-piece design here. ![]() ![]() ![]() This is an easy two-banana job and you don't need to be an electrician to install them. You only need a screwdriver, wire cutters/stripper, and a heat gun. If you have an Off-Road Fabricators spare tire carrier as I do, you will need to replace the supplied stainless steel mounting screws with longer screws. The quality is first-class and head & shoulders above any other tail light design I have seen or used. These are the 4th & final set of tail lights I have installed onto my TJ & I can tell that they will be the last. It's clear Blaine & Gerald spent some serious time on this design & I dig the looks and low profile design they came up with. I won't have to worry about scraping these off, that is for sure. Check them out at Savvy Off-Road
