Looking nice, really cool concept! Good job guys. Although I'm not a fan of all the bolts sticking out everywhere, even though they are structurally (sp?) needed.

And hey, if you ever need some east coast beta testing; i'm on 32's, running blacks, and rubbing metal!

You are absolutely right about the rockers. They are love them or hate them. The bolts Blaine chose make it all happen. These fit so tight on to the tub it's sick! The top edge will just need a little sealer and very little mud, sand or debris will get trap between the base and the tub.

We have discussed the bolt issue at length and we feel function over form was more important.

I don't do artistic. In fact, I don't have even a smidgen of an artistic bone in my body. I'm pure function and just about anything I design will reflect that. But, as I said, I doubt there will be much middle ground on this product. You'll either understand them because you've fought the rocks and lost, or you want them prettied up.

Most stainless we work with is stronger than mild steel and takes more tonnage to bend. Plus if you've ever drilled or countersunk it, you know it's a lot tougher without being harder.

I'm going to have to disagree.

Have you seen some of the crap that artist call "art"?

I think what you are doing qualifies as art.

installation question: i plan on lining my tub (that u-pol thread got me goin). should i wait to install sliders first and then line, or line first, then install the sliders? i was thinking, since they are bare aluminum/ss, that "lining" them too would be pretty cool. again, spray first, or spray later?

There is no body lift. We started there because with a BL it's even easier to install the Tub Backer. You'll have no issues with or without a BL.

Good question. The rockers fit any TJ body. A bidy lift does not affect the rocker attachment to the body. You'll like the way the rocker hides a bunch of tub damage.

This is our stock 2004 Rubi with out a BL. Soon it will get a 1" BL as I'm getting ready to regear and put the 35s on it.

If I was going to do it and line the outside of the tub, I'd do it first. I'd prefer you didn't do the aluminum because I am not sure how compatible the liner would be and whether or not it would stick. You have to use a zinc chromate or self etching primer as a base for paint, so I'm guessing straight liner may have an issue. If you primed them first you'd likely be okay.

This is tempting now. With a two piece design and lighter materials, shipping might be cheaper (which is a huge problem for us Jeep runner in overseas countries). How much does thing actually weigh?

Just going on a limb, not being a rock crawler at all, anyway to coem up with a system that has 'steps' that can be lowered down and locked into place with a pin, like older jack stands? And then be folded up against the tub like a rock guard/slider deal.

I would probably be more interested in something like that, so I can allow the ladies to stop whining about the height, and also be able to go and keep em up when wheeling.

They weigh 30 lbs per side. So shipping weight around 65 lbs.
