Can you think of a more perfect application for AR 400?

While not a big selling point, I am around a ton of folks who like to wheel their rigs hard and also keep them looking nice. It came to me in a dream one night that some of them might like a pretty powdercoated piece they could bolt on for daily driving and then put the beat up ones back on for wheeling. I've also known a few of those same folks to actually go to the odd show-n-shine here and there.

Interesting... what types of additional step/slider options did you guys have in mind?

I just ran the numbers for you. Under the door which is the weakest point of your tub where a rock rail would go, the sandwich is .700 at it's thickest point and held together with 6 through bolts and serrated flange nuts.

We have several options at this point we're mulling over. I'd kinda like to see what folks think they want and then build the most popular option.

Any idea on a price yet?

As for steps, how about something with the trucker lady silhouette?

My apologies on the pricing. We haven't figured out order quantities yet and we needed to get these on Gerald's rig before he headed off to the Rubicon.

I'll make you a silhouette of anything you care to pay for.

looks nice. LJ versions would be nice. Will there be tub gaskets?

I haven't decided what I want to do with rockers since I haven't wanted to drill through the tub and cause a bunch of rust 4 years down the road. I'd definitely need powercoating or anodizing since the mag-chloride in the winter here will turn them all sorts of funny colors.

What does the underside look like? How much tub coverage? How come I didn't get advanced pics!?

Gerald's pic in post #16 gives a pretty good shot.

Gerald, can you get some shots of the scraps from rocks? I'd like to see how deep the gashes go. 0.040" or 0.100", etc. The gashes in steel i've seen seem to all be less than .030" or so and I'd like to know how the Al holds up in comparison.

The sliders are stainless so I don't think I'll get many gashes in the Al. I'm pretty sure these are going to be tougher then most rails on standard rockers!

well most stainless isn't quite as strong as steel and its more brittle...so it will still be interesting to see how they do on rocks. post pics

I know you guys know what you're doing, I'm just being overly critical
