So much sodium in SPAM! I could never eat it and like it.
The directions state to hook the side marker up to the driving/parking lights. That will illuminate them for that purpose, but there is no circuit provided to hook the side marker into the flasher circuit. I can solve this with a small relay and some wire.
The pink heat shrink tubes that came with my kit work great and are very durable once shrunk.
...the side marker isn't just wired in with the rest of it? Being a Stop/Turn/Tail light, shouldn't the whole thing be flashing when the blinker is on?
Ignoring the reverse light and wires for the moment.
Yes, that is how the stock lights work. They work that way because one bulb reflects into both reflectors within one sealed unit with two wires and two filaments in the bulb.
In this case the LED side marker and LED tail light are two separate sealed units. The tail light has two wires and two "filaments". The side marker has one wire and one filament.
It then happens that the side marker with out extra circuitry can only fill one role.
Why? The parking/driving light always remains at +12 volts even when the flasher is activated. It does not flash in time with the flasher circuit. If the side marker is hooked into the parking/driving circuit it will never flash. If it is hooked into the flasher circuit it will never come with the parking/driving circuit.
Any word on when the next shipment is going out??...no patience here..haha
