Okay and this is where I am right now:
Got the front of my jeep taken apart: Bumper, sway bar cover, sway bar, steering box skid.

Sway bar and pieces got a quick coat of hammered black to keep them pretty.

Brought the bumper inside out of the cold. Paint is dry to the touch, but still can be scraped with a finger nail. Put the recovery tabs on finger tight and this is how it's looking:

Paint came out nicely. I'm curious to see how the Rokmen steering skid will mate up with the Savvy bumper. Also need to do my front license plate.

I'm not quite finished yet, but I think I'm going to have to end up getting a 1/4" longer bolt on the lower driver side to make it through my Kilby Steering Box skid... need to get over to the HW Store today...

I can't get those two bolts on the bottom of the bumper to go in straight! I don't kow what's wrong with it.

I had to put those in first... basically 1-2 turns by hand on each of the top ones, then I did the bottom ones all the way and then finished the top bolts... It took a little finesse to get everything in.

I also ran the bolts all the way into the frame and then back out before I put the bumper on to make sure the threads were clean and clear.

BTW< the Black Paint looks Good!!!

I got a couple cans of this that I'm going to try to coat with later this week... I'll probably start with the Recovery Points and decide if I'm going to also do the bumper and winch plate...

Alright I'm finally done. Took some finesse to get each bolt in the right way, but I managed. I had the bumper completely on, and than I went to put the sway bar back on and it wouldn't go over the lights . Since the lights are in the fairleading mounting holes, you can only get to them by taking the bumper off. So I had to take the bumper off and slide the sway bar on that way. The steering box skid bolts were also a little tricky egtting them lined up. There was a lot of put the bolt in, take it out ,put it in, try it again type of stuff but it was a very straight forward install. Than now that everything is in and fits, I realize that one bolt on one of the recovery tabs is not tightened all the way ! Oh well, not taking the entire thing off again, I'm not going to worry about it.

It's dark out here so the pictures didn't turn out too well. I'll get some more tomorrow in the light.

Also need to set up my front license plate tomorrow.

Though I'm going to leave mine the natural aluminum color, I have to say that from the above pics that it looks really good painted black too.

Gerald, what cellular service provider are you using out there at JV?

I thought it was just me, but maybe not...because you're describing exactly what I went through.

Anyhow, I had a heck of a time with those two bolts. Eventually I gave in and slightly enlarged the passenger side hole. I started those two bolts first, and the others pretty much fell into place.

I also have a Rokmen steering box skid and had no problems with it fitting.

Thanks for the compliments everyone. The paint came out great. It was still a little soft when I installed it which made for a couple scrapes, but still looks good. I'm so madat myself for missing the one recovery tab bolt. It's bothering me so much not having it tightened down! I don't want to go through the install all over again to get it tightened though.

Where is your money tree at? Mine died this winter...

LGriffith: That 1 loose bolt is going to bug you until you take the bumper off and tighten it if you are anything like me.
