Savvy engine skid

Hey does anybody have a pic of this skid showing the oil pan drain access? I emailed Gerald at Savvy to see if it had a hole to access the oil pan drain. He said it did and was going to update the pics of it on the Savvy site, but they aren't updated yet. Thanks!

Somewhere in this thread, I'm sure there are pics.

There is a pic at the beginning, but it's from 2010, isn't that for the whole system? It's modular now, so I am assuming it's slightly different. There is a little access panel in the pic. Anyone know if the engine skid still has the same panel? That thread is 166 pages long.

I thought when they went to the modular system they did away with the oil change door. If Gerald said its there though I guess I am wrong. If it is there it would likely be very similar to what you see on the surfboard. There isn't a lot of magic to a door like that.

I just looked at the email again and he said, "There is a drain plug hole." But I've just been reading that maybe there isn't. Now I really don't know!

Right but if you read my original post he said there was one and that he was going to update the pic on the site.

I have the modular armor and there is no oil drain opening for the engine skid. It's not a big deal for me because it doesn't take much effort to remove the skid.

x2. I like drain holes, so I drilled my own and welded an aluminum reinforcement piece across the inside vertically.

Yes but I've also been reading that the skid may have been redesigned slightly earlier this year to remove the requirement to use the Savvy MML. Has anyone bought the engine skid in the last 4 or 5 months? I wish they listed more info on their site.

Seems like a little less often lately. I guess with Ultra4 Nationals, SEMA, trying to get their new 4400 car done, etc. it is tough to be Gerald!

Alright well maybe we'll have to wait for someone who got theirs recently to tell us. I am going to order one in January regardless, but I am really curious to know the story about the oil pan access or lack thereof.

Even with the oil pan access your likely to make a huge mess anyway. Just easier to take it off.
