Sahara style flares...is the rocker panel piece removable???

Has anyone removed the center piece of their sahara flares??? I'm interested in putting on some rocker skids, but need the following info first...

-Is there anything about the wheel flares that will look odd if the center piece is removed? (cutouts, etc.)

-Is there anything funny with the paint under the center piece that would make me not want to remove it? (scratches that would be exposed, etc.)

-Any holes under there that a rocker panel might not cover?

Please tell me about your experiences with this.

Thanks.

It is removable....and looks just like any other jeep without em....the only thing is there is a rail that the rocker attached to...so unless you are gettin body mounted rockers...you will have some holes to patch...hth

Jeepchik is correct

There is a line of holes that will remain from flare to flare as a result of removing the mounting rail across the top.

You can see the rail in this pic

Currie Enterprises makes a specific body guard for a Sahara model as a result of the holes left
