This is just from what I have noticed no hard evidence... Edit: I have noticed the strip also has the cross bar for the top behind it, better for when the windows start to flapping on the canvas instead of the window it self... __________________ Bird - 2006 Unlimited 2004 Limited 4x4 KJ |

Registered User Join Date: Dec 2004 Location: Bel Air Maryland Posts: 506 | As far as I know, all the Unlimiteds were Sunrider soft tops. I recall reading somewhere that the strip along the window was added as a design change somewhere during the production run (05 model year I think). I purchased my OEM top about a month ago for my 05 LJ and it has the strip to protect it from flapping on the bows. Whenever I see one without the strip, I've always assumed it was an 04. |

Member Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: Greenville, SC Posts: 331 | All Unlimited have Sunriders...the strip was introduced mid-2005. Apparently, mine was among the first to have this strip because I had one replaced under warranty (seam was unraveling) and the shipped replacement had no strip and they had to custom order it rather than from the build sheet. |

They don't rust like they used to. Thank heavens.
