Its decent I just changed the shocks to the BDS 5500s and I couldn't be happier. I would look into the RE if I was gonna do it over I think.

Thanks for the honesty. We were kind of leaning towards the RE, but it's nice to hear from someone who is running the pro comp setup.

Anyone regretting this carrier now that you've had them a bit longer? I'm thinking of ordering one this afternoon. Stinks that I missed out on the 264 price, cheapest I can find is 330 shipped.

I don't regret having mine but knowing what I know now. I would save your money and get something nicer that you aren't going to want to replace later. Just my 2 cents.

not sure what "actually" bent...I just opened the carrier 180*.....put a jack under the carrier and lifted and jumped up and down on the bumper......see in the pic posted above the plastic piece that lets the carrier rest on the bumper? Mine was about 1/2 and inch off the bumper so there wasn't much latch catching in the bucket so mine kept coming open. there is an inner spring above the actual latch, you can't see it, but it's pretty stout.

Is it just me or does anyone else have an issue with visual clearance out of the rear of their Jeep? I put it on today and it almost seems hazardous how much it blocks my view of what's going on behind me...One other question to those who have this combo; how did you get the nut/bolt tightened down on the frame tie-in? I can't seem to get anything in there that allows me to grab the bolt to tighten it. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I was able to get a box end wrench into the opening to hold the bolt while I tightened it.

For some reason I can't do this to save the life of me. The angle at which the hole sits compared to where the bolt is just doesn't allow me to do so. Maybe I will try again tomorrow...

When I did mine, I put a lock washer on it and spun the nut down by hand. I wedged a big screwdriver against the nut and hit the bolt with the air rachet. It tightened down nicely! Did both sides this way...no problems, and very tight.

Thanks for keeping this thread alive -- i was shopping for a bumper and just found this

4wheelparts is having another sale until the end of the month...
I just ordered the Smittybilt bumper w/ D-rings -- 10% off plus free shipping!

The reviews you guys put up weren't *too* bad, so, I'm excited to get this thing installed.

BTW, HI!
