Rubicon Transfer case into non rubicon

I might be able to get a good deal on a rubicon transfer case. And I have a few questions before I buy it: how hard is it to change t cases? If I do this it will eliminate my need for an sye so I would need a cv drive shaft, correct? I have a d35 if that matters. Thanks in advance

Swapping a 241 t case is not difficult. You will need to buy a 03+ transmission mount or modify your current one. I was able to modify mine in about 30 minutes with a grinder.

A rubicon t case comes with a sye from the factory.

The lower range is going to make your already vulnerable D35 even more prone to breakage. That aside, my 241 swap has been one of my favorite mods.

It is best if you replace the rear output flange with a yoke so you can get a longer drive shaft with a CV.

I want to perform the same swap on my '05 X-model. I found a Rubi xfer case mounted to an automatic transmission, but I have the 6-speed manual. Any issues there? Is the x-fer case the same regardless of the tranny it's mounted to?

Easy swap. Get a rear CV driveshaft from Tom Woods. He has an exact fit for your application.
