Rubicon Speaker Pods

Has anyone taken out their speaker bar and replaced it with the Rubicon Speaker Pods? Do they attach easily? Any extra fabricating to add these?

Quadratec has a set that is supposed to just drop right in. You may have to do a bit of wireing. Shouldn't be to tough.

i am guessing that by the "rubicon speaker pods" you are meaning all 03+ speaker pods?

My TJ didn't have a soundbar at all. I went aftermarket with edgeauto.com's 6x9 soundbar. Holds 6x9's with NO problems or mods required.

i'm sure they would be a similar install compared to the soundbar. probably screw into the rollbar, like the soundbar does, and has wires that run to it. if i didn't have a soundbar already, i'd get those pods.

the wiring should not be a problem, but bolting them in could cause some problems since i think the sound bar just goes across the back bars or the roll cage with out connecting to the center cage bar at all, now the pods connect to the center bar. The holes my not be exsist on the older jeeps. good luck.

the soundbar on 'older' jeeps is screwed into the rollbar.

there is two bolts per side plus a stud that comes off the center roll bar per pod. im not sure they will mount securely if you dont have the stud or a means to make one. there are however a lot of after market pods/bars available. vertically driven products makes pods and bars, and outland, bestop, omix, make bars. prob a few others if you search.

another thing: the 03 & up pods may be "clearanced" for the roll bar pad and cover - may show a gap if you have no pad or cover. hth
