rubicon rear end leak

ok so i have a 03 jeep rubicon and i was looking at the back of the jeep today and noticed i have fluid that seems to be leaking out of my rear axle tube on to my tire on the passenger side. anyone got any ideas why this might be happening??

i see that same spot is a little greasy on my D35, but i have never seen it drip, and no significant fluid loss as of yet

curious what it is myself...

update on the rear diff leak.. the whole inside of the rim is caked with what smells like gear oil. is there a seal that may have gone out?

Yes, front and rear axle seal leaks are fairly common on earlier Rubicons. You might want to check out ******************.com for additional advice as a lot of people there have dealt with this.

i have 03 rubi axles under my 97 tj and my driver side leaks very bad...especially for a few days after whellin...I just built these axles like 1 year ago and they have been leaking since 4 months after i built them...i don't know what the deal is...the tube seals look fine..i just bought some new ones...we shall see what happenes..any ideas why these axles leak like this??? or any fixes!!

Your axle seal is bad. It needs to be replaced.

If you are referring to the front axle, the tube seals at the u-joints are simply dust covers. The actual front seals at the inner ends of the axle tubes, and are accessibe only by removing the diff cover, axles, and differential.
