Review of Daystar Control Arm Bushing replacement

Has someone reviewed the Daystar RE bushing replacements?

How did the installation go?

How are they holding up?

One of the vendors was selling them when I was at Moab in April, so I bought a set. Around $55 +/- if I remember correctly. Soon after I got home I changed them out.

The installation went fine. Slow & tedious but not technically difficult. I removed each control arm, took it to the workbench, swapped the bushings out, then remounted it. It was a little bit of a pain to get the original rubber bushings out, but with a few screwdrivers it went fine. On my passenger side rear upper I couldn't get the bolt out from the axle side, so I ended up having to change that bushing out with the control arm still attached to the Jeep. Of my factory rubber bushings, the lower control arms looked fine; the rear uppers looked like they were starting to split, but hadn't yet.

So far they are holding up well.

FYI a torch will get the bushings out real fast

and dropping the springs will make pulling the bolts out of the CA's a breeze.

So this hasn't been bumped in a while. Just wondering if anyone's put some serious work to the Daystar bushings. If so, how are they holding up? I only really care about my rear uppers, but would be interested to know of any failures on either upper or lower arms, and how they are holding up.
I think people would be interested if it's a success story.

I always wondered if it was the hourglass design that was more prone to failure and if the Daystar material proves otherwise?

I should add I've had them installed in my rear uppers for about 8 months or so and 10k miles or so. Not much flexing just hunting and fishing trips as well as my DD. I haven't had them out to check, but probably should take a look at them.

I installed a set a few weeks ago. Extreme improvement over the worn out bushings. After a few weeks of road driving and off road trips they are loosening up already. I'll update after some more offroad time.

Edit: Its been 4 weeks. 3 of the four weekends I've been in the trails. I cracked the upper passenger rear bushing. It looks like its cracked in half. Bummer.
